• Stockton Buddhist Temple - Stockton, California

Aside from being the Buddhist headquarters for the San Joaquin Valley, the Stockton Buddhist Temple is a pretty nifty place for non-Buddhists to drop into and mosey around. The grounds are full of colorful and intriguing sculpture depicting events in the life of the Buddha, making some unusual photo opportunities. Visitors are warmly welcomed, both on regular days and and at special events, and the staff are friendly and quite willing to answer your questions. And don't worry, they're not going to pressure you to convert.

      If you go:
Open to visitors every day during daylight hours. Admission is free, but donations are requested.
