Where have you ever seen a highway bridge built just for animals to cross the road? On Highway 200 near Arlee there is such a bridge. The bridge is constructed in such way that it forms an overpass over the highway, allowing animals to cross the road safely. The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of the Flathead Nation have a casino in the area, and the tunnel was probably constructed at their direction. There are other animal bridges in New Jersey and Washington state plus several in Europe and Canada.
