• Dry Falls - Coulee City, Washington

Dry Falls is 3.5 miles wide and 400 feet tall. It was once a roaring waterfall. It was 'wet' for a short time at the end of the Ice Age, but all that is left today are the cliffs and several spring fed lakes at the base which form Sun Lakes State Park. The visitor center and Vista House overlook provide stunning views of the canyon that was formed in a short period of time. It is worth the detour from I-90 to see this wonder, and the park below provides recreational activities if you plan to stay awhile.

      If you go:
Camera and binoculars are a must for the far views from the overlook. There is a scary walkway out over the brink to provide unobstructed photos.
