• Giganticus Headicus - Kingman, Arizona

You don't have to travel too far along this section of Route 66 before you hit one photogenic attraction or another and they don't get much weirder than the green head that stands in the forecourt of the former Kozy Corner trailer park. "Giganticus Headicus" is a 14 ft-tall, Easter Island-style sculpture created by welder/artist Gregg Arnold around 2005, and has now become as much of a magnet to road trippers following this famous highway as sites that have been around for 60 years or more.

      If you go:
Apart from some large mechanical ants climbing the side of the building, there's currently not much more to see but the artist has ambitious restoration plans so, as they say, watch this space!
