      While she was working as one of the country's few female reporters and living in a modest apartment in this building, Margaret Mitchell wrote the perennial bestseller 'Gone With the Wind,' which won her the Pulitzer Prize in 1937 and made her an international celebrity until her untimely death 12 years later.

      Her apartment is restored painstakingly to its appearance at the time she lived here, and the rest of the building has been converted into a museum in her honor, displaying rare photos, letters, manuscripts, news stories and other memorabilia.
