• Lodgepole Campground, Sequoia National Park - Sequoia National Park, California

      Roadtrip Attraction
This highly-rated (and therefore highly popular!) campground is situated just two miles from the Giant Forest sequoia grove and General Sherman Tree. The site itself benefits from an idyllic location amidst the forest and there's a lovely little creek, Marble Fork of Kaweah River, just an easy stroll away. The facilities are excellent too; the adjacent Lodgepole Village has a store, visitor centre, showers, laundry and deli/snack bar. Lodgepole Campground is open all year round.

      If you go:
Aim to book ahead (advance reservations are possible) as Lodgepole fills up quickly; same day walk up sales are unlikely at busy times.
