• One Log House - Garberville, California

      Roadtrip Attraction
Created in 1946, this roadside oddity was originally intended to be a motor home, but after it proved to be too cumbersome for extensive travel, it eventually made its way here to its permanent resting place. Carved out of a single ancient redwood, it's 32 feet long and 7 feet high, and fully decorated as living quarters inside. With a minimal admission fee, it's worth making a pit stop, particularly since there's also an espresso shop and a gift shop, and you might be able to see a chainsaw artist carving some of the redwood sculpture offered for sale.
