• Fruita Biking Trails - Fruita, Colorado

      Roadtrip Attraction
The area around Fruita, just a few miles from Grand Junction, features some of the finest mountain biking trails in Colorado, if not in the whole country. From bike loops that require an hour or two for completion to those that can take up the better part of a day, there are rides for all levels of skill through ruggedly beautiful mountain terrain along the Colorado River. For the truly hardcore biker, there's Kokopelli's Trail, a highly revered stretch of 142 miles from Colorado to Moab, Utah that can take most people several days to conquer. If you're more in the beginning to intermediate stages of a biking obsession, however, you'll find Rustler's Loop and a few other loops quite manageable, though often challenging. If you're a beginner or are unfamiliar with the area, you should consider securing the services of a guide such as those at Desert Rat Tours. You can also explore the trails on foot.
