• Mel Fisher's Treasure Museum - Sebastian, Florida

      Roadtrip Attraction
A colorful deep sea diver and treasure hunter who has become something of a legend, Mel Fisher is best known for discovering the wreckage of the Atocha, a Spanish galleon that sank in 1622. Items from this and the Spanish Treasure Fleet, which sank in 1715, are on exhibit at this museum. And not only can you view these relics of history and adventure, you can buy them. You can even dive for them yourself if you have the pocketbook for it, as the museum offers diving expeditions at the Atocha site. There is a second museum in Key West.
