• Skyland Resort - Luray, Virginia

      Roadtrip Attraction
There are three lodging options in the Shenandoah National Park. Big Meadows Lodge, Lewis Mountain Cabins and the Skyland Resort. The Skyland is located at mile 41.7 and features a very nice dining room, bar and guest rooms. There is a children's playground in the lower part and ample places to hike and explore. One of the interesting aspects of this location is that view from most of the guest rooms is that of Luray, Virginia and the surrounding countryside. As a result of this location, 4G Internet service is available in most rooms. Skyland was first created as summer retreat by George Pollack in 1894 and there are a number of historical photos in the lodge. Musical entertainment is available most evenings and the lodge also has horseback riding. DNC acquired the concessionaire rights for the first time in 2013.

      If you go:
Just beyond the check-in desk is a public room with a fireplace, wonderful view and lots and lots of games and puzzles. The dining room has an awesome view. Highly recommended!
