• Hollywood Bowl - Los Angeles, California

      Roadtrip Attraction
Since 1922, the largest natural outdoor theater in the country has hosted all kinds of music and other star-studded acts, from The Beatles to Pavarotti to Abbott and Costello. The classic bandshell over the stage was replaced with a more modern model a few years ago, but the entertainment is still just as spectacular and just as varied. And it's offered at a wide range of ticket prices - sometimes as little as one dollar! You can take a self-guided walking tour of the Bowl, or a guided tour is available for groups of 15 or more. There's also a free Hollywood Bowl Museum onsite.

      If you go:
Picnic tables are available for use before a concert, but they fill up early. As always in L.A., be prepared for heavy traffic. Parking is limited, so consider public transit or a park and ride lot.
