• Luther Burbank Home & Gardens - Santa Rosa, California

      Roadtrip Attraction
      Luther Burbank, world renowned botanist and horticulturist, lived here from 1884 to 1906. His widow lived here after his death and donated the property to the city upon her death in 1977. Now, planted with some of the 800 species that he hybridized, the lovely gardens are full of color and a variety of plants and flowers. Tours of his house are available and you can wander through the gardens at your leisure.

      If you go:
      Open from April through October. The gardens, carriage house museum and gift shop are free. Tours through the house and greenhouse available for a small fee. Open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday; tours every half-hour. Parking on the streets nearby.
