• Museum in the Streets - Augusta, Maine

      Roadtrip Attraction
The Museum of the Streets is a seasonal tour of historic places in Augusta. You'll learn much about its early history as you stroll down the streets and read the signs pointing out buildings and events. The Old Fort Western (pictured and Stop 3 on the map) can be visited but most of the locations are marked only by signs. The museum is located in three main areas along Water, Front, Cony, Willow, and Canal Streets.

      If you go:
In each of the three areas, you should park and walk. A map/brochure is available at visitor centers or other attractions in the area. The best bet is to download and print the brochure from the Museum in the Streets website. The signs are put up in early spring and taken down in late fall and are in English and French. The fort is open from 1 or 4 daily.
