      Four floors and thousands of square feet showcase life in Maine from 12,000 years ago through recent years. Natural and cultural exhibits show how Mainers have lived and worked, the natural resources of the state - all beautifully curated and displayed. The scale can be huge- such as this replica timber from the St. Mary or the mill-water wheel actually operating equipment and visible on two floors. And don't miss the Cabinet of Curiosities.       Open Tuesday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday from June 24 - November 25 -1:00 p .m. to 4:00 p.m. The museum is closed on Mondays and all state holidays. Adults $2, discounts for children and seniors. Guides in other languages available. Free parking available nearby.
