• Shore Trail along Padilla Bay - Mt Vernon, Washington

      Walk, bike or spot birds along this 2.3 mile gravel path as it travels along a dike that borders the bay. Relax on one of the many benches along the way and enjoy the breeze and the views. You'll walk along tidal slough and mud flats and may spot a muskrat or other wildlife too. This estuary is the most diverse and productive of all estuaries on Puget Sound.

      If you go:
      Located about one mile south of the Breazeale Interpretive Center at the research reserve. Trail is open 24/7. Park on 2nd Street and walk to the beginning of the trail or park at the lot another 2 miles south of that trailhead on the same road (GPS coordinates 48.457226,-122.466132) Part of the Pacific Northwest Trail.
