• Old Strawberry School - Strawberry, Arizona

      This historic one-room schoolhouse was constructed of pine logs in 1884. On this same site since it was built, the building is original but it has been furnished with donations from former students and the community. Docents share a bit of the history and old school desks and the original slate writing board add ambiance.

      If you go:
      Open May through September on Saturday 10-4 and Sunday 12-4 or by appointment. Open Fridays and Mondays during part of the summer. Donation. Small parking lot- no RVs. Drive 1 3/4 mi from junction to school on the right. Strawberry Lodge, at the corner of Fossil Creek and Hwy 260/87 serves delicious pies!
