• North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame - Mooresville, North Carolina

      Roadtrip Attraction
North Carolina is a hub of NASCAR racing, having produced many drivers for the circuit. So perhaps it isn't surprising that the official visitors' information center for Mooresville is also the home of the Hall of Fame for the state's auto racing efforts. It's a rather compact facility but it displays 35 cars and numerous photos and memorabilia. There's also a theater screening great moments in racing history. The vehicles displayed range from a 1929 Ford Model-A Roadster to a replica of Dale Earnhardt's Goodwrench Chevrolet. Aficionados of the sport could spend at least half a day here, and even those who don't care for racing itself may find the exhibits of curious automobiles worth an hour of their time.
