Question for the roadtripping experts...A friend and I will be driving a toyota camry pulling a 4x8 trailer . My plan is to drive from Chicago to Denver, then Denver to LA. I'm worried about driving the mountain passes if I take I-70 like yahoo maps suggests...Is there any way that I can avoid the worst of the mountain passes?
Thanks in advance.

The easiest suggestion from Denver would be to take I-25 South to I-40 and take that across. You'll still see some elevation gains, but they wouldn't be as taxing on your car as I-70.
If you don't have to go through Denver you could also take I-80 to Salt Lake City, or take the old route 66 path of I-55 to St. Louis, I-44 to OKC, and the I-40 to LA.
