Greetings All

I am trying to put together a road trip between the above two destinations. This will be a first for us in NA ( we have done a number of trips in Southern Africa) basically what I am looking for is an enjoyable route to LA with a number of places of interest along the way hopefully avoiding the major cities and then a fast route back. Looking for route options, accomadation options( motels, hotels, camping etc ) What are the pitfalls what to watch out for etc etc

TIA

Welcome to the RTA forum!

You haven't given us much to go on here. The most major city-free interstate route would be to go across Ontario, crossing into Michigan at Sarnia, working your way down I-80 and take that west to I-15. You'd brush past the south end of Chicago, but otherwise Las Vegas would be the next major metro area you'd be dealing with (Des Moines, Omaha, and Salt Lake City would be other urban areas along the way.) and of course if you have time to get off the interstate, you've got millions of potential combinations that would keep you completely away from cities.

Beyond that, I don't know what you'd be looking for. "Places of Interest" doesn't say much without knowing what your interests are, what sort of time and money you have etc. If you have some sort of basic outline or an idea of what you are hoping to do with your trip, we'll be in a better position to help, but right now, we really are just guessing.
